The Resident's Society ( RESOC )
About RESOC
The International House Residents’ Society (IH RESOC) consists of a group of volunteers from amongst the college’s residents, working together in maintaining the values of college life, and ensuring that the interests of the college’s residents are preserved. IH RESOC undertakes a multitude of tasks, from the organization of major social events to the sustaining of college facilities for the perusal of residents, and even in the establishment of a volunteer-maintained cooperative which provides food items and occasional treats at competitive prices to the college residents. IH RESOC endeavors to create and preserve conditions in which international friendships may continue to prevail.
The IH RESOC committee comprises of a number of committee members, each nominated and elected by their peers at the beginning of the academic year through an official election. Several committee members are elected in the academic session before to form a shadow committee to ensure that a smooth transition between committees may be carried out in the period between two academic years.

IH RESOC utilizes its available resources to provide a range of services for the college community. A variety of events are usually scheduled each session, and then organized by its directors with the aim of offering residents an opportunity to reach out to their fellow residents, and in doing so, foster lasting relationships between individuals of vastly differing backgrounds, making international understanding truly possible.
Each session, the IH RESOC directors organize a wide range of activities, from formal dinners, parties, outings to sports activities including basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, pool and so on. Events and activities each session may vary. Other dedicated committee members also see that food and facilities are sufficiently attended to for the well-being of the residents.
