International House
Limited was incorporated as a public company in 1964. It
was four years later in July 1968 that the House opened
its doors to the first group of residents. The Foundation
Day Dinner held the first Friday of the second session
commemorates the opening of the House. A guest speaker delivers
the address and the theme for the evening is “International Understanding”.
This year the guest speaker is the UNSW Vice Chancellor,
Professor Frederick G Hilmer AO.

Every year in the week
preceding University session, International House organises
a series of activities as known as Orientation Week. This
year, we had Speed Dating, Movie Night, Coogee Beach BBQ,
IH Olympics and Seniors’ Study Break.
Coogee Beach BBQ gave the opportunity to enjoy the delicious

Part of International House tradition,
we stage a Formal Dinner at the beginning of the university
session. Residents are encouraged to put on their national
attires, giving rise to a vibrant multi-cultural atmosphere.
Following the College annual photograph, we made our way to
the beautifully decorated dining hall for an evening of performances,
entertainment and delicious cuisine prepared by the Resident's
Society, Seniors, and the Food Services Staff of the House.
