Every year in the week preceding University session, International House organises a series of activities as known as Orientation Week. Among those activities the IH Olympics is one of the highlights. This year residents old and new grouped themselves according to floors to outdo each other in bloody battles for victory. It's a tried-and-tested event, where friendships were formed in the war zone, where race, sex and language formed no barrier in the pursuit of college-wide glory.
After the cake of flour on the faces have been cleaned and wet T-shirts dried, the video clips of Britney impersonation will still haunt your reputation for a long time. In the battles of muscle and mind, shoes are passed by a conveyor line of dexterous toes and wrong trivia answers are punished by a stomach-guzzling spoonful of Vegemite.
We hope that new residents will find this event to be a great ice-breaker to assist in their settling down at the College, and we welcome returning residents with a dose of cheer. Let's all grab the College spirit and work to make this place a great fun place to live in for everybody.
