In breaking apart from the norm, IH RESOC this year
offered the residents a unique way of exploring the Sydney Harbour - on a high speed jet boat. We booked two boats from
OzJet and filled them up with residents on one fine weekend afternoon, and watched as they screamed and shouted at the top
of their lungs as their rides tossed and turned about in the middle of the water.
The jet boats were capable of doing leaps, 90 degree turns, abrupt stops, even 360 degree about turns. The exhilarating ride was made even more thrilling by the fact that we were on water, and there were plenty of splashes to go about, which was a good thing as waterproof jackets were provided beforehand.
On top of this, the views of the harbour and its surrounding areas were still clear, despite the fact that we were cruising at breakneck speed. All of these together really got everybody's adrenaline pumping.
The ride lasted for only half an hour, but was just as exciting as an hour long roller coaster ride. Both boats returned safely (with no residents missing) and full of smiling faces.
