The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to residents who have demonstrated a commitment to the philosophy of International House and the value of “service above self” and encourage them and others to make a contribution to society. It is our belief and hope that residents who give of their talent and time to the life of the College will continue to make a contribution to the community in which they live after leaving International House. The International House Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 through the generosity of alumni and friends of the College. A Scholarship Committee of alumni was created to formulate policy and procedures for the administration of the funds with the broad aim to facilitate the mission of the College and to assist residents with financial needs. The Scholarship Committee aims to establish several scholarships and awards serving various needs of the community. The UNSW International House Company has also committed to match any fund raised on a dollar-to-dollar basis up to A$ 25,000.

How can you help?
Your support is very important to us! To provide for the continuity of one or more scholarships we are seeking donations and corporate sponsorships from individuals and companies who share our values and believe that cross-cultural understanding is a cause worth greater recognition. Donations to the International House Scholarship Fund are tax deductible in Australia and the U.S.A. Cheques can be made payable to UNSW International House Ltd. and a tax deductible receipt will be issued.

How are your donations recognised?
All donors will be acknowledged on the Honor Roll page on this website and contributions totalling $1,000 or more, your name(s) will be etched on the International House Scholarship Fund Plague that will be prominently displayed in the College. Your donations will be recognised under the categories on the following:

How can you make a donation?
As an individual, you may wish to fund a full scholarship of $1,000 or make a donation to the Fund, which together with other gifts will help established future scholarships. Alternatively, you can get together a group of friends and contribute to a full scholarship under a group name of your choice. Corporate donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated. We suggest a minimum donation of $1,000.
